Since 4 September our daily news bulletins have been filled with tragedy of monumental scale.
First there was the earthquake in Christchurch (aftershocks are still being felt), then the Pike River Mine disaster in which 29 lives were lost, and now massive flooding in Queensland. Every night we watch the most horrific, heartwarming and also amazing stories.
Meanwhile, distanced from the tragedies, we sit in the comfort of our living rooms.
Others have had their lives ripped apart.
For us, every second is there to be enjoyed. We should be thankful for every one of them …
